Gabriel Gambardella, DPM, FACFAS named Section Chief of Podiatric Foot and Ankle Surgery at Saint Francis Hospital

Gabriel Gambardella, DPM, FACFAS has been named Section Chief of Podiatric Foot and Ankle Surgery at Saint Francis Hospital (Trinity Health of New England), effective July 1, 2021. In this role, he will be responsible for overseeing the section of Podiatry and working towards improving quality patient care and obtaining excellent surgical outcomes.

Dr. Gambardella holds a medical degree from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia, PA. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery in foot surgery and reconstructive rear-foot and ankle surgery. Dr. Gambardella completed a surgical residency at Yale-New Haven Hospital where he was trained by world-renowned foot and ankle surgeons. He joined Bloomfield Foot Specialists in 2014. He specializes in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of foot and ankle disorders, including congenital and acquired deformities, sports related injuries, arthritic conditions, foot and ankle trauma, and wound care.

His surgical interests include surgical wound reconstruction and limb preservation, peripheral nerve surgery, ankle arthroscopy, deformity correction (bunions, flatfoot, etc), trauma surgery (tendon ruptures, foot and ankle fractures) and Charcot reconstruction. Dr. Gambardella has lectured throughout the country on foot and ankle surgery and is active in resident education at St. Francis Hospital.
